The Hot Rolling Mill
The AZE Hot Reversing Plate Mill, manufactured by SMS
DEMAG AG, has an annual capacity of 60,000 ton producing plates
with thickness ranging from 4.5 mm to 100 mm, and width ranging
from 1.0 m to 3.5m of maximum length 30m. In addition, a
vertical edging facility is fitted with automatic width control.
The Mill is served by a Walking Hearth Reheat Furnace with a
capacity of 35t/hr providing a hearth temperature zone of 1250°C
and accepting slabs from 80 to 350 mm thickness of width 1.0 to
3.5 m and length 1.9 to 4.1 m.
The Hot Leveller accepts plate from 4.5 to 50 mm thickness, of
width 1.1 to 3.65 m at 450 to 1000°C with a levelling speed up
to 120 m/min.
The Cold Leveller is rated at a line speed of 15 to 30 m/min.
The Rotary Side Trimming Shear trims up to a thickness of 25 mm
with a maximum line speed of 30 m/min.
A Dividing Shear can process plates 1.0 – 3.5 m wide and up to
50 mm thick.
